Riese & Muller do a wide range of electric bikes now – they call them hybrids which makes sense I think. Anyway, some have the BionX motor, some have a TransX motor, and some have a crank-mounted Bosch motor system. R&M’s full-size bikes have been overlooked in this country a bit compared to the Birdy, but these hybrid bikes are probably the best electric bikes money can buy…

I’ve updated the electric bikes pages with all the info:

Now for something completely different – a project I completed last year, studying the giant Scottish explosives factories which are now rapidly vanishing…

The Midget is a new toy on loan – isn’t it cute?

S&S into odd size tube, originally uploaded by Ben Cooper.

I used a shim to fit an S&S coupling to a non-standard top tube diameter – works quite well I think ;-)

Surly dropouts on a Kona, originally uploaded by Ben Cooper.

Today’s interesting repair job – the original dropout snapped, so replaced them with Surly’s horizontal mech hanger dropouts.

For some reason, every form on the website has stopped working – I’m fixing the problem but it’s a bit tricky, so if you find you get an error code when you try to order something, please give me a call – 0141 942 2552.

And to think I started a bike shop to get out of the computer business ;-)

Rohloff Disc Brompton, originally uploaded by Ben Cooper.

A retrofit on an older bike, in stealth black – with a SON Delux front hub powering the lighting of course…

Hetchins, originally uploaded by Ben Cooper.

The latest restoration project – a 1954 Hetchins Nulli Secundus, frame restored and repainted by Bob Jackson, rebuilt with a mix of original and modern parts by me ;-)

A fun project for Westerton village fete – see it in action next Saturday :)
