I took delivery of the trailer at the end of January 06 with optional baby seat (up to 10mths)and have since purchased the stroller kit. The materials used in the construction are top quality and seem to be hard wearing and build quality is excellent. Having so far covered just under 600 miles on roads, sustrans trails and the upper and lower ridgeways along the chiltern hills, its well run in and handles the rough terrain well. The suspension system is easy to adjust and smooths out all but the biggest ruts and potholes. The five point harness holds my 21 mth old boy in comfortably and safely, the baby seat must be good as my 4 mth old daughter spends most of the time asleep init. Boot space isn't too bad but it is awkward to get into, for example, it would hold two footballs but you couldn't get them through the opening. Although mainly used as a cycle trailer the stroller kit is really usefull as we now use it as a pushchair both round town and on country walks. This is my second trailer and the sport model fits all my needs, worth every penny. I spent many months reserching before buying and these trailers tick all the right boxes, their strong, very light(it's half the weight of my last trailer)but most of all I feel my kids are comfortable and safe.

Chariot Cabriolet (2005)

Good points: * Large cargo and child capacity with a separate 'boot' * High quality construction * Easy fold * Easy to use buggy conversion * Infant compatible with sling/supporter Not so good: * Too much front ventilation which lets dust in * Cheap tyres We've had our Cabriolet for nine months now and we've been really impressed. It's our first child trailer (curiously, the first we've ever needed!) and I think it's far better than the competition. Other child trailers seemed to be built for California where it never rains and is never cold - this was shown by the big gaps at the front of the trailer we rented that would let everything in. The Cabriolet doesn't have this problem. It is well sealed from the elements, but also is easy to open up for some fresh air. We chose the Cabriolet because of the extra cargo capacity over the Sport models. This means we can take a small boy plus shopping back from the supermarket without having to overload the bike. Handling-wise, with appropriate tyre pressures it feels fine. You do notice it's there when riding, but that's more to do with the occupant than the trailer! I like the futuristic styling, and the fact it is easily foldable is very handy in our crammed stairwell. We also bought the stroller conversion, which is very handy round shops or when visiting museums etc. The Cabriolet is a bit wide for some shop doors though. One failing is front ventilation. It is easy to open up the front for cooling air. However the whole front window opens (it does have mesh behind it though) so on dusty cyclepaths your child gets a face full of dust from your mudguard. Some of the other models solve this with opening side windows, but this feature would be best on all of the models. Overall, I like it. Our son likes it enough to fall asleep in it when he feels like it. No complaints from him about it yet.

I have been the proud owner of a Chariot for just over 3 years. Before purchassing this versatile product I researched the marketplace for a stable lightweight running buggy that could also be towed behind a bike. I made the right choice - yes the price is steep, but you get what you pay for. This is a quality piece of kit, that my 4 year old still loves. Behins a bike, it is extremely stable and I have had no problems. As a 3 wheeler, I have ran with it in the Eyam half marathon (one hell of a hilly course)- the only concern it that it rolls so well, that there is a tendancy to let go of it when you think the road is falt! I would recommend it to anyone - you will get 5 years per child before they grow out of it.
