| Good points: * Large cargo and child capacity with a separate 'boot' * High quality construction * Easy fold * Easy to use buggy conversion * Infant compatible with sling/supporter Not so good: * Too much front ventilation which lets dust in * Cheap tyres We've had our Cabriolet for nine months now and we've been really impressed. It's our first child trailer (curiously, the first we've ever needed!) and I think it's far better than the competition. Other child trailers seemed to be built for California where it never rains and is never cold - this was shown by the big gaps at the front of the trailer we rented that would let everything in. The Cabriolet doesn't have this problem. It is well sealed from the elements, but also is easy to open up for some fresh air. We chose the Cabriolet because of the extra cargo capacity over the Sport models. This means we can take a small boy plus shopping back from the supermarket without having to overload the bike. Handling-wise, with appropriate tyre pressures it feels fine. You do notice it's there when riding, but that's more to do with the occupant than the trailer! I like the futuristic styling, and the fact it is easily foldable is very handy in our crammed stairwell. We also bought the stroller conversion, which is very handy round shops or when visiting museums etc. The Cabriolet is a bit wide for some shop doors though. One failing is front ventilation. It is easy to open up the front for cooling air. However the whole front window opens (it does have mesh behind it though) so on dusty cyclepaths your child gets a face full of dust from your mudguard. Some of the other models solve this with opening side windows, but this feature would be best on all of the models. Overall, I like it. Our son likes it enough to fall asleep in it when he feels like it. No complaints from him about it yet. |
