Most trailer companies only provide the trailer - leaving it up to you to work out how to carry things. Koga decided to do it differently, producing a fully integrated touring trailer system - with trailer and bags designed to work together. The Chela is also a base camp when you stop - with a comfy seat and table, and even a retractable camera tripod to take a pic of that perfect sunset ;-) There are four bags in total - a large base bag, two side pods, and a top bag which converts into a rucksack for small hikes away from base camp. This top bag also has a small solar panel built in with a 12V car power socket, for recharging a GPS, camera or phone. A rain cover for the entire trailer is also provided. The trailer is aluminium, with a suspended 16” rear wheel and taper headset bearings on the tow arm. The arm attaches to a quick release with twist-lock fittings. The trailer weighs 10kgs, the bags 2.6kgs, and it’s rated to carry 30kgs load. When you’re travelling to your holiday, the Chela is clever too - take off the back wheel and mudguard and stow them in the bag provided, and the trailer will roll like a suitcase on it’s smaller castor wheels - there’s a dummy axle tow handle provided to make this easy.
