Another first from Busch & Muller - LED dynamo front lights. I saw the prototypes at a German show back in September ‘05 - they’re beautifully bright and white, with a wide cone beam. The LED will last for the life of the bike - no more blown bulbs ;-)
B&M spent ages developing the clever electronics to drive this light - as it produces a lot less heat than a filament, it’s also more efficient, and starts shining at only 2.5km/h.
Because they’re so efficient, the DLumotecs put out about as much light as a 5W halogen bulb, yet draw only 1.8W - more light for less effort...
We have four versions of each model in stock:
DLumotec Oval Plus - with standlight - £55 ![]()
Dlumotec Oval Senso - with auto light sensor - £55 ![]()
Dlumotec Oval Senso Plus - With sensor and standlight - £65 ![]()

High-Performance LED "SUPRAVISION"
This high-performance LED is firmly connected to the reflector and the cooling unit. Thanks to the long service life, it is not necessary to change the bulb. The integral cooling system prevents the high-performance LED from overheating, thus ensuring many years of high lighting efficiency.
B&M also make excellent halogen versions of the Lumotec Oval:
Lumotec Oval
The Oval Lumotecs are taller and slimmer, with the reflector above the light instead of around it. The case is longer, and all the Ovals come with the short bracket they need for fitting to your forks. The internals are the same - the same bright 2.4W Halogen bulb protected by a Zener diode, and you can still change the bulb and wiring without tools. The Oval is £19.

The Lumotec Oval Plus has the same standlight feature as the Lumotec+ - basically, a small capacitor is charged as you ride, which then powers a front LED when you stop. The Oval Plus is £40, and is also available in chrome for £44.50.
Lumotec Oval Senso (Plus)
The Senso system is simple - a switch on the back has three settings: Off, On, Senso. Off and On are pretty obvious!
In Senso mode, the light uses it’s built-in light sensor, and turns on automatically when it gets dark. This feature is perfect for hub dynamos - basically, it’s a fit-and-forget lighting system...
If you connect the rear light to the front (instead of to the dynamo) then the rear light is controlled by the same switch and Senso technology.
Two versions are available - standard, or the Plus version with the standlight feature as before, for £40 and £44.
Lumotec Oval - £19
Lumotec Oval Plus - £40 (also in chrome:
- £44.50)
Lumotec Oval Senso - £40
