StreetMachine GT Rear Carrier

StreetMachine Gt Lowrider with PropstandThe rear carrier system is the best place to carry luggage - it’s behind you so is in your slipstream, and can take very large panniers and a top bag or tent. I’ve carried 50kg+ on my rear carrier, though I wouldn’t suggest doing that often! It’s rated at 25kg.

For more carrying capacity, the lowrider carrier is the way to go - it can take another full-size set of panniers, up to 25kg, and with it’s low centre-of-gravity does not affect the handling like front panniers can on an upright bike. It’s also handy to be able to reach into the pannier when you’re riding to get sandwiches or a drink! The little propstand shown is a handy extra.

If you don’t have the lowrider, another propstand is available which fits to the rear triangle.

StreetMachine Gt SpeedbagThe SpeedBag is another carrying option - it can hold 120 litres of luggage, and is very aerodynamic - it fits instead of the rear rack. The Streamer front fairing makes you even faster (and keeps you drier)!

Note: I’ve left this Speedbag info in here, even though it’s not easy to fit the Speedbag to the new HP Bodylink seats - if you really want one it’s do-able ;-)

The rear suspension on the StreetMachine is very good - the No Squat system means that it is unaffected by your pedaling. The standard suspension unit is good - this optional DT Swiss unit is even better...

StrretMachine Gt Disc Compatible Rohloff Option

Gearing and brakes can be upgraded in various ways on the StreetMachine (although the “basic” specification is already very good). The V-brakes can be swapped to Magura rim brakes or disc brakes, and the gearing can be upgraded from Deore/Tiagra to XT/105, or even to the amazing Rohloff hub gear.

StreetMachine Gt Underseat Steering

The handlebar position on the SM is very comfortable - your hands sit relaxed at your side, with brake and gear controls in easy reach. Overseat steering is an option, if you feel that way inclined...

This picture shows the optional Magura hydraulic brake levers.
